Coffee Morning in aid of Rape Crisis North East – 20th March 2018

Due to the wonderful support we received last year and the huge response from all our very generous sponsors and many friends we are once again hosting our Coffee Morning in the Oriel Centre, The Dundalk Gaol, Carrick Road, Dundalk, Co. Louth, and invite you to come along, enjoy quality time with your friends while helping to create awareness of our valued services here at Rape Crisis North East, surrounded by the ambience of this treasure local historical venue.

This event takes place on Tuesday 20th March from 10:00 am to 1pm and also includes a historical tour of the Old Goal which was very welcomed by all at last year’s event!  Admission is free, donations are most welcome and there are many wonderful prizes on offer in our raffle.

Your continued support of our service and your attendance to our Coffee Morning Event, proceeds from which, help provide a much needed counselling and support service to their increased number of Women, Men and Adolescents attending the services here at the Rape Crisis North East.

Sinatra: The Man and the Music – 27th & 28th March @ 8 pm.

When the greatest artists of the 20th century were named, Frank Sinatra was labelled ‘The Voice of the Century’. In this performance, Stephen Burns relates his life from humble beginnings in New Jersey, through Academy Award films, to Las Vegas stardom, where Stephen recounts his meeting with Princess Grace in Monaco and their mutual admiration for Sinatra.

The 10 Dark Secrets of the Irish Revolution – Friday 30th March @ 8pm

Paddy Cullivan of Callan’s Kicks and The Late Late Show brings you an audiovisual spectacular on the Centenary of the Irish Revolution. This highly engrossing show combines satire and song with striking images and stark historical insight which will leave you shocked at how little you really knew about the foundation of our country.

Since their foundation in 1958 Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Craobh Dhún Dealgan (The Dundalk Branch Of Comhaltas) has promoted traditional culture in Dundalk. In 2018, the branch celebrates their 60th birthday and will host several events throughout the year to mark this milestone.

This concert on St Patrick’s eve includes music, song and dance to set the mood for Lá Fhéile Pádraig.

THE annual Fitzers 5K Fun Run and Walk – Sat Feb 24th

THE annual Fitzers 5K Fun Run and Walk takes place once more on Saturday February 24. This is the seventh renewal of the event that was inaugurated by Deputy Peter Fitzpatrick as a means of helping local organisations providing vital services.

The beneficiaries this year will be Maria Goretti Children’s Respite and RehabCare Adult Services, Dundalk to support Art, Drama and Music programmes that they provide.

Takeover of Airtricity League club Dundalk FC

US investment firm Peak6 has completed its takeover of Airtricity League club Dundalk and formally taken control of the club.

It was announced on Thursday evening with the club issuing a statement confirming the news and local businessmen Paul Brown and Andy Connolly insisting that they had found buyers capable of taking the Oriel Park outfit to the next level.

Dundalk FM (97.7FM) will broadcast a special radio documentary on Brigid of Faughart at 9am on Saturday 13th January, it will also be repeated on Sunday 14th January at 5pm and will be available as a podcast for the Dundalk FM homepage.
